“ We stopped in for a quick lunch after a doctor's appointment around 1pm. There were a few patrons inside, but we mostly have the place to ourselves. Sometimes this is a bad thing, sometimes it's good. In this case, it turned out to be a good thing. I think most of the crowd comes on the weekend or evenings. This seems like a fun spot to watch sports, and the patio is extensive with an additional bar in its center. There's also a stage inside, so I imagine it gets pretty wild in here with live music and whiskey flowing. We had a great lunch. The food is fresh and our friendly server, Bella, was the greatest. She checked on us frequently, but not too much. She kept our drinks refilled and brought out food and sauces quickly. She even offered Hubs a to-go cup of his unsweetened iced tea. I felt like we were back in the South. We ordered: - Coffee - Unsweetened Tea - Zucchini Spears - FOUR LARGE FRIED ZUCHINNI SPEARS, SIDE OF RANCH. These are delicious. Hubs and I both loved them. Fresh, hot fried zucchini spears that weren't too thick, covered in a thin, crisp breading. Our server brought out two ranches so we each got one. - Poutine Fries - HOMEMADE BROWN GRAVY, CHEESE CURDS. We enjoyed these, but we like the zucchini spears better. The gravy on these is very good. There is some melted cheese on top that tastes like mozzarella to me. I didn't see any cheese curds. - Fish Fry - BEER BATTERED FISH, FRIES, SLAW, TARTAR SAUCE. We shared this entrée after stuffing ourselves with the starters and it was just right. We each got a large, fresh piece of perfectly battered and fried white fish. The tartar sauce for this is a little on the sweet side - not my favorite but OK. The coleslaw that comes with this is very tasty. Hubs and I both liked it. The fish comes on a bed of fries that we didn't eat because we had already stuffed ourselves with poutine fries. A good fish and chips all around. We'd come back here when the craving hits. This restaurant is located on the corner away from the main shopping strip of the Park West Shopping Center in Peoria. There's plenty of parking in the lot. There's a men's and women's restroom inside for customers. ”
“ Another good stop this weekend at the Cabin. This time we sat at the bar since we didn't have our kids. We started with some chips and salsa and a few drinks. I decided to order the fish tacos based on other reviews and I'm glad I did because they were delicious. We also ordered a pastrami sandwich but the bottom bread was so soggy. Flavor was still really great but my husband had to flip it over and eat with the top bun that was toasted. Service was decent, but could've been a bit more attentive. Vibe is sports bar feel. Nice indoor and outdoor area. Parking can get tough especially during the farmers market. ”
“ The Cabin Whiskey and Grill is located in the Park West complex in Peoria, right off of the 101 and Northern. Inside the cabin theme is all throughout the restaurant. You're greeted by a standing grizzly and walls of wood. A large bar is the centerpiece with pine trees painted all around, and a stack of cut firewood sits to the side. Outside has another bar as the center with tables and high tops all around the spacious patio. Being a whiskey lover in a whiskey bar, I ordered the blackberry sour and was not disappointed. (It's the closest drink I've found to my favorite Sinatra Smash that serves as the featured drink of the Wynn in Vegas). We shared the torpedos as our app. They are jalapeno poppers but made with the full pepper and come with a spicy dippng ranch. My fish tacos were very good, and the nachos were topped with perfectly grilled flavorful chicken. It's a cool spot for a larger group. It's always a plus for us when the kids have room to move so the adults can enjoy some beverages and conversation. I suggest sunset on the patio with family and friends. ”
“ My husband and I drove out to Glendale to take our pup to a doggo park. Afterwards, we decided to check out Cabin because they were dog friendly. We dined at Cabin back in 2020 and hadn't been for years. The patio area is HUGE and we were surprised that there was no one out there. I will say, the chairs & barstools need a little love, maybe some paint or a good dusting. The bar inside has a ton of seating, which makes it a great restaurant for game days. The fish tacos were really good, and well seasoned. My husband also enjoyed his burger and said the sweet potato fries were crispy and fresh. We had no complaints about Cabin and we would revisit! ”
“ This was a very unique sports bar, I really enjoyed it! It was very wide open and had lots of hunting and rustic memorabilia, it was almost like a Cabela's themed restaurant! I don't know if this would be my usual gathering spot, but it was definitely worth stopping in once! ”
“ This is a very spacious restaurant. The bar primarily takes up the majority of the inside. There was one bartender managing the whole bar. So yes, there was a long wait for drinks and food orders as well as to cash out. The food was good. I tried the fish & chips with no regrets. The fish was battered and fried just right. There is an outdoor area. Great for groups or large parties. Tvs throughout. Accessible parking and entrance. ”
“ Ambiance is nice - chill bar vibe I think the Food 10/10 Service is always excellent We ordered the fish fry (10/0) and my hubby got the Cajun fettuccine with shrimp (8/10) Last time my husband had a burger and he loved it The fries are cooked perfectly here and the fish is excellent Will be back ”
“ After being in the area for a while. I finally stopped at the Cabin. I had been reluctant in the past because I felt that the menu was somewhat limited. to pub grub. So finally, here I am. First impressions are that the place is spacious and perfect for gatherings with friends. We were promptly seated near an open roll-up door. It was comforting to see the people enjoying the large outdoor patio with adults, children and dogs enjoying the warm January evening. The only problem that we experienced was when we first arrived. Our server was very slow and inattentive. After 20 minutes of waiting after we were seated, the hostess finally came over to ask if a server had come by. We said no, and she had to go find someone to serve us. She rarely checked on us. Even waiting for our check took a long time. Even though they specialize in Whiskey of all types, I found they have a nice draft beer selection as well. The 32 oz. beer mug was soooo large, I could almost swim in it! Yes, fill er' up! As mentioned previously, the menu is somewhat limited with mostly pub grub offerings. I decided on the fish and chips with poutine. My wife had a lettuce wrapped turkey burger. My fish was light and not oily and my wife said she really enjoyed her turkey burger. Also, the poutine was done right and satisfying. While I wish that the menu was more in depth, what they made, they made well. The ambiance is spacious and warm and I loved those roll up doors. I did see some delicious looking burgers that passed the table. Yes, I think I will have one the next time I am by! ”
